"Bark Park" Citizens Work Brigade Day

Councilman Bob Weiner organized a Citizens Work Brigade Day at the “Bark Park” at Talley day County Park on Saturday August 12, 2006. The event was organized by Councilman Weiner in response to budget strains in the New Castle County parks department. “Citizen participation allows “bark park” users to feel a sense of pride and ownership in our community park,” Weiner noted. “Government cannot afford to do everything so this is a wonderful opportunity to save taxpayers money while allowing the dog park users through their labors to directly underwrite the maintenance costs.” I organize these work brigades periodically as needed. Those citizens who are interested in getting on my bark park email list serve can do so by emailing me from www.bobweiner.com.

"Bob Weiner is one of the best advocates for Brandywine Hundred that I've ever had the pleasure of knowing with his friendly demeanor and well-spoken thoughts. Anyone going into political science or law would be lucky to be mentored by someone like Bob. They'd certainly be a better person for it. All of us in Tavistock appreciate all his support."
