Councilman Weiner spearheads formation of new graffiti brigades in Centreville, Hockessin & Southern NCC. - Community News

New graffiti brigade forms in southern NCCo
Community News

Middletown, Del. —

The number of volunteers committed to cleaning up graffiti seems to be proliferating as quickly as the vandalism itself.

A new anti-graffiti brigade has been established in the southern portion of the New Castle County, just a month after a brigade was started in Hockessin and Greenville.

Mike Ansul will lead the new team, which will focus on areas south of the Chesapeake & Delaware Canal. The Delaware Department of Transportation will arm Ansul and others with paint, surface cleaners and brushes, so that they can take up their own battle in the graffiti war started in 2007, when Councilman Robert Weiner (R-Chatham) and several volunteers formed the first brigades in Brandywine Hundred.

"Bob Weiner has done a great job in developing and constantly keeping a watchful eye over the Talley Day County Park and its dog park. I live on Wilson Road directly across the street from the park. I talk to many pet owners who just love the park. Many have told me that it's very relaxing there and they love the fact that their dogs can play together in a secure environment. When Bob walks around the park with his two dogs he stops to say hi to everyone. He certainly deserves credit for a job "well done" and I thank him for that along with so many pet owners. "
