Bob Weiner Kicks Off Delaware Greenways' Warm Weather Walking Series

Greenway Walking Series - Join Us Saturday May 24th
10 to 11:30 AM - Led by Bob Weiner

Meet At Parking Lot off Foulk Road next to "Can Do" Playground

Delaware Greenways Walking Series

Delaware Greenways invites you to participate in our Warm Weather Walking Series!  Over the course of the spring, summer, and fall, Delaware Greenways will host several guided walks intended to acquaint participants with local greenways, trails, and parks and encourage more people to get out and enjoy the many recreational facilities available in their community.

The walks are free to the public and will be lead by greenway volunteers who will also offer insights into local history and nearby cultural resources.  Each walk is leisurely and will last approximately 90 minutes.   Anyone who participates in each of the planned five (5) walks will receive a free t-shirt commemorating their achievement.

These walks are a great way to become familiar with some of Delaware's newest parks and trails including the Northern Delaware Greenway through Alapocas Run State Park - Delaware's newest state park!

Our first walk will take place on Saturday, May 24 from 10:00 a.m. to 11:30 a.m.  New Castle Councilman Robert Weiner will meet guests in the parking lot off Foulk Road, adjacent to the "Can Do" Playground in Alapocas Run State Park.   Your 90 minute tour will highlight the newly completed sections of the Northern Delaware Greenway and the recently opened Rock Manor Golf Course.

The next walk will be our big National Trails Day event on Saturday, June 7 starting at 10:00 from our home at 1910 Rockland Road.

Additional information including maps and a schedule of upcoming walks is available on our website (delawaregreenways.org).   Or call Delaware Greenways at (302) 655-7275.

"I have never been as impressed by the actions of an elected official as I have been with Councilman Bob Weiner. Whatever I ask or request, his response is immediate, even if it's something outside his jurisdiction. Bob always takes action or points me in the right direction."
